That's a good question. When I was in Elementary school I got into an argument with my mom about the number of continents (I was taught there were 7 she said there were only 6). They teach things slightly differently in Europe it seems. In Spain (and most of Europe) North and South America are one continent because they are "connected." However, that doesn't explain why they don't count Europe and Asia as one continent since they are slightly more than "connected". obviously because they dont have slanted eyes and/or dark skin like those folks east of turkey, and RIGHT THEY ARE!
